Iceland Strokkur Geyser

Geyser explosion

Iceland is a volcanic island and its unique geological characteristics are manifested both on the surface, with the presence of many volcanoes (some of them active) and underground, leading to the formation of so-called geysers.

I had never seen a geyser explosion before. It was pretty exciting, particularly with the Strokkur, which erupts semi-regularly every 10-15 minutes. This made it easy to photograph and film the explosion. The only thing to pay attention to when taking photos, taking the amount of people present into consideration, is to remain upwind in order to avoid a colossal shower of hot sulfurous water. I barely escaped this as I was  distracted by the beauty of this phenomenon!
