Hailing from Turin, Italy with a degree in Architecture, I have a passion for the outdoors, animals and motorsports.
These unique loves have taken me on some great adventures. For several years, I ran a dog care center in the Italian countryside. In 2005, my childhood racing dreams came true when I accepted the challenge to drive in the T4 category, in the famous off-road Dakar racing series. This adventure would last for five consecutive years, racing across Africa and falling in love with the continent. But at a certain point, it wasn’t enough for me to only see these landscapes from inside the cab of a truck. So, I decided to take a road trip from north to south, starting in Alexandria and ending in Cape Town. I started off with a Panasonic dmc Tz7 point and click camera, but it wasn’t capturing the full extent of what I was experiencing on the journey. When I arrived in Kenya and encountered the most magnificent animals, my desire to photograph them just as I saw them and bring a piece of Africa back with me spurred my decision to buy my first Reflex, a Canon 60d, for the final leg of my journey.
My passion for photography has evolved, not just because of the emotions it brings forth when I am out shooting, but also because it is a means by which to recount and share what I am living through each image. The need to explore pushes me to seek out new places and paths to follow as independently as possible. For a few years I have often been traveling with my little “house on wheels” with my 4-legged companion, Nina. This allows me to tour places at my leisure, stopping to sleep wherever I like.
It’s hard to tell whether I am travelling to take photographs or whether I keep photographing to continue travelling. All I know for certain is that the world is full of wonders and I intend to enjoy them as much as possible, hold them dear in my memory and share them through my photographs.
